TAIKOPROJECT is an energetic, youthful American taiko drumming ensemble influenced by hip hop and contemporary theatre. They are hailed to be the TAIKO version of STOMP and “not your mama’s Taiko.” They are highly recognized for their work in the 2005 Mitsubishi Motors commercial and took 1st place at the International Tokyo Taiko Contest. Since the taiko drum is relatively new to the stage, this Japanese drumming tradition is now available to a new age of theatrical viewers. Loud, fast, and clean with an energy level set at maximum! |
