The museum’s permanent collection and rotating exhibits focus on American art produced in the Western Region of the United States. The museum features events free to the public, such as concerts and book readings. Along with its permanent collection, the museum features other art exhibits, which run for six to eight weeks. There are often exhibits located in the Special Collections section of the USU Merrill Library. The Museum also features a campus-wide collection of art and sculpture. Exhibits are advertised in the local media. Hours: New hours for construction period M-F 10:30-4:30 &Wed 10:30-8. Regular Hours (when construction is complete): Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 10:30 am - 4:30 pm, Wednesday: 10:30 am - 8:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday: 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Free to the public. Northern Utah Choral Society

The society’s goal is to serve community singers who wish to sing at a higher level. Musical pieces range from patriotic, seasonal and Broadway to musical masterworks. Group members have the opportunity to travel both within the United States and abroad, but travel is not mandatory. The society also participates with other choral groups. They have been in two PBS (public television) programs and have performed in Salt Lake City’s Abravenel Hall and Kingsbury Hall. Membership is by audition. Auditions are held at the beginning of September and again in January. Call for exact dates and times. Members pay quarterly dues of $25.00. The Society meets each Wednesday evening from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. September through May. |

These new community youth organizations will be part of the Utah Festival Opera Company with performances held throughout the year and during the summer opera season. The rehearsals will be held in the Dansante Building in Logan on Saturday mornings, with performances held in Logan's Ellen Eccles Theatre. Participants will be learning and performing music from the great orchestral and ensemble literature, as well as excerpts form operas and show tunes. In addition to working with Mr. Dunn, participants will have the opportunity to work with some of the finest nationally acclaimed conductors and clinicians from around the country, as well as faculty and musicians from local universities.

The Old Lyric Repertory Company makes its home in the historic Caine Lyric Theatre and is sponsored by Utah State University Department of Theatre Arts. This is a capstone course for theater students in a professional theater atmosphere. Students work for a stipend full-time through the summer with equity actors and advanced actors, technicians, and designers from across the nation in true repertory style. They also provide an apprenticeship program for high school students. Regional and national auditions, open to seasoned graduate and undergraduate actors. The Youth Conservatory, established in 1978, is dedicated to increasing understanding of music and instilling a lifelong appreciation for the musical arts. This is accomplished through group musicianship classes and individual piano instruction. Students also participate in recitals and concerts, including the very popular Monster Concert each spring.
